AJACS supports local partners to provide accountable and responsive services in Syria. We are currently seeking an experienced Arabic-speaking candidate to manage the Community Engagement component of the project.
Job Description
Specific Responsibilities
The CEM has responsibility for the following tasks:
Management of AJACS Community Engagement Team
· Manage AJACS Area Managers (AMs), Programme Officers (POs), Field Officers (FOs) and AJACS partners to develop their programme ideas and work plans for approved activities
· Oversee programme and project design and implementation in the field via the AMs, PO, FOs and CSWGs
· Support and coordinate with partners as needed to ensure that programme design is on schedule and that partners adhere to programme and AJACS donor regulations and guidelines
· Oversee preparations for AJACS-sponsored workshops, trainings for CE staff, including field officers
· AJACS CE interview/hiring needs; coordinate and oversee the collection of CVs, the scheduling and arrival of participants, manage support staff, ensure that workshop events and training sessions remain on schedule, plan and execute group activities, and oversee the proper documentation of all cash payments
· Oversee the timely submission and accuracy Field Reports from the AMs via the Field Officers.
· Represent the CE Team at AJACS component lead meetings and ensure constant and effective communication between the CE Team and other AJACS Components
· Support other AJACS staff in managing programmatic implementation, as needed
· Support the activity closure process through following up on missing documentation, and assisting partners with completing deliverables
· Utilize the database and ensure that activities and information are being accurately added by the team
AJACS Reporting
· Preparation of regular status reports on CE Activity Development and quality assurance of CE contribution to quarterly reports
Management of the Field Officers
· Development and presentation of procurement and finance procedures for AJACS Field Officers
· Direct CE team in management of FOs’ work and support FOs’ capacity in implementing procedures
· Ensure essential documentation is received from communities and retained on file
· Facilitate financial/programmatic audits
· Any other tasks as requested by the Implementation Manager, Team Leader or Deputy Team Leader
Required Skills
Essential:
Excellent written and spoken English & Arabic
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Able to work effectively in a team
Previous program management and supervisory experience
Desirable:
Knowledge of Syria and the sensitivities of working in a conflict-affected area
Experience conducting training
Experience with remote managing teams
